Some of the more recent things that I have worked on has been filled with content about the things that have somewhat shaped me into who I am now. I can remember being a young kid in elementary school, and being picked on. Well as a child, and even to this day at times my peers still ridicule me about my teeth. They would call “Leave it to Beaver, Buck Teeth, Termite, and Scurvy just to name a few. The list of things that I got picked on about I’m sure is endless, and I could probably spend the rest of my career as an artist doing work simply dealing with this issue alone. So with that said, it inspired me to do just that, a series of paintings about my teeth titled Picked On. In doing so, it brought back all sorts of feelings and emotions, but at that same time created a sense of freedom from it all.
